PLOT
MEMORYLEAK follows Sam Sussman, a 19-year-old Texas native whose life changes after witnessing a strange object crash in his yard. Drawn into a growing local mystery surrounding the off-limits facility known as Clear Wood—a towering compound hidden in Lampasas—Sam investigates the site and discovers experimental firearms, alien technology, and a mysterious prototype headset.
After entering Clear Wood, Sam encounters hostile containment teams and is forced to flee with help from a friendly robot named Hemi. Together, they uncover that the experiment at the heart of Clear Wood may be linked to an extraterrestrial group aiming to disrupt a solar alignment by connecting the tower to the moon. The facility draws the attention of a group called the Tower People, and soon, military forces flood the streets. Lampasas enters lockdown as Sam becomes a wanted fugitive.
Sam and Hemi travel through checkpoints and abandoned routes into downtown Austin—now a militarized wasteland—in search of the key to unlock the headset's full potential. Pursued by containment teams, they eventually locate a portal that leads Sam to an off-world prison on a space asteroid. There, he meets Jaye, a fellow prisoner who helps him escape back to Earth.
Upon return, Sam finds Hemi disabled and Clear Wood closing in. Donning the prototype headset triggers a deeply immersive virtual sequence. When Sam returns, he discovers he's been cloned. The authorities abandon pursuit and instead detonate a nuclear device inside Clear Wood, covering their tracks. With time running out, Sam regroups with Hemi and Jaye. Faced with the destruction of Lampasas, they prepare for one final stand.
The story blends grounded Texas locations, Cold War echoes like Operation Longhorn, and a sci-fi conspiracy involving alien tech, military secrets, and catastrophic cover-ups.
ELEVATOR PITCH
MEMORYLEAK™ is a grounded action-narrative built on authenticity and modern design.
Set in Central Texas, 2002, the game follows Sam Sussman, a 19-year-old from Lampasas who stumbles onto Clear Wood, a classified facility tied to Operation Longhorn—a very real U.S. Army maneuver staged in Lampasas in the 1950s. When a luminous crash puts the entire town on lockdown, Sam’s youthful curiosity spirals into a desperate fight for truth, survival, and identity, as he races to expose a conspiracy threatening to erase his hometown from the inside out.
What sets MEMORYLEAK apart is its unified design philosophy. It blends perspectives, styles, and technologies into one seamless flow:
Bodycam-style FPS intensity delivers a raw, physical view of combat and exploration, immersing you in the weight of every step and shot.
Third-person shifts give players strategic readability and cinematic framing, providing balance and clarity while never breaking immersion.
Stylized 2D sequences move the narrative forward, weaving memory and story into the world itself.
3D traversal and firefights keep the gameplay grounded and tense, pushing players to explore, fight, and think under pressure.
VR segments amplify intimacy and tension, placing you in claustrophobic searches, fractured memory dives, and close-quarters confrontations that feel tactile and unforgettable.
This balance of perspectives and modes keeps MEMORYLEAK visceral yet playable—cinematic without sacrificing control. Vehicles and a robotic suit extend traversal and combat without breaking realism, creating rhythm and variety in a way that feels responsive, believable, and true to the grounded tone.
The world itself is a character. Every environment has been recreated with authenticity and grit, drawn directly from real Central Texas locations: Lampasas backroads, rural infrastructure, hidden corners of Austin, and small-town landmarks. Spaces are built with care; props are photoscanned; physics remain consistent; characters are human and fallible. The result is a setting that feels lived-in, tactile, and rewarding to explore. Every interaction reinforces instinct and curiosity.
MEMORYLEAK plays with the intensity of a modern tactical shooter while layering exploration, narrative weight, and meaningful choice. It is fun first—never losing sight of pacing or gameplay feel—but also unforgettable by design.
The canon arc holds the tension tight: Sam allies with Hemi, resists containment forces determined to erase the truth, and navigates fractured memories that test his grip on reality. With Lampasas on the brink, every decision becomes part of a desperate stand to bring the truth to light before it’s buried forever.
Releasing on PC and major consoles with VR support where available, MEMORYLEAK™ is more than a debut. It is a bold statement of vision: an indie project with AAA ambition, a Texas story rebuilt with modern tools, designed to inspire, connect, and endure.
